Our votive candle stand in church – we light candles as a sign of our prayer for our own intentions. Our prayer continues even after we leave the church. We are committed to praying for our community, holding one another before God, sharing in one another’s sorrows and joys. If we can pray for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Our weekly prayer bulletin shares the first names only of those we are praying for (without any identifying details), and it is our pleasure and privilege to pray.

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear! All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. Joseph Medlicott Scriven (1819-86) Musical Worship Our Organ and Organist Music is a really key part of worship at St Mary Magdalene. We are so pleased to be able to lift our voices in song one more, following many months of not being able to sing with COVID restrictions in place. We value the beauty of traditional hymns, and we are blessed with an excellent organist. We also love to include more contemporary worship music – you can expect to hear everything from Byrd and Bach to Tori Kelly and Gregory Porter. A number of our congregation are musicians, and we are always keen to hear from anyone who plays an instrument or sings.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. Psalm 104:33 (NRSV) Get Involved Do you love flower arranging? Gardening? Cooking?
